Dentistry Written Answer, 09/03/10 [S]

Written Answer given in response to Ross Finnie's (LD) question asking the Scottish Executive how many people aged (a) under five, (b) five to 18 and (c) over 18 had teeth extracted in the (i) NHS general, (ii) hospital and (iii) community dental service setting in 2008-09.

The Minister for Public Health, Shona Robison, replied providing information on the number of patients who had teeth extracted in the NHS general dental services setting, and in a hospital setting in 2008-09.

There were 582 0-5 year olds who had teeth extracted in the general setting, and 1,876 who had a tooth extraction proceudre carried out in the hospital dental service setting.
